Pizza Hut is doing just fine

11/2/2017
Call it a tale of two pizza chains.

On Wednesday, executives from Papa John's, the official pizza company of the NFL, blamed the company's disappointing sales on NFL players’ protests during the national anthem. Founder and CEO John Schnatter blasted NFL leadership for letting the protests continue.

But Pizza Hut, a division of Yum Brands, on Thursday reported its fifth positive quarter of same-store sales and reported sales that topped expectations. The company said it is "not seeing any impact" from NFL player protests on its business in the third or fourth quarters of this year.

“We're not seeing any impact from any of that on our business," the company said during its earnings conference," the company said during an earnings conference call Thursday, CNBC reported.
