Paramount names consumer products head

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Michael Corcoran has been named president of Paramount Pictures consumer products and recreation group, the company announced today.

Corcoran will be responsible for overseeing Paramount's worldwide licensing, consumer products and themed entertainment activities. In this newly created role, Corcoran will spearhead a broad range of licensing and merchandising programs to extend the Paramount brand and its properties across a variety of categories such as theme parks, toys, apparel, themed restaurants, and book publishing.

Corcoran comes to Paramount from NBC Universal, where he served in several senior marketing, finance and operations roles including evp, chief administrative officer and cfo of Universal parks and resorts; and evp and cfo of Universal's Orlando theme park.
