Office Depot relaunches environmental Web site

BOCA RATON, Fla. Office Depot has launched a new environmental Web site at www.officedepot.com/environment. The redesigned site provides a concise summary of Office Depot’s strategy, solutions and leadership under its global environmental vision to “Increasingly Buy Green, Be Green and Sell Green.”

“Our new environmental Web site communicates Office Depot’s industry-leading environmental programs in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner,” said Yalmaz Siddiqui, director of environmental strategy for Office Depot. “While we’ve been recognized by numerous office products industry observers as the green leader in our sector, information on how we implement our ‘buy, be and sell green’ philosophy has been somewhat difficult to find and navigate – until now. Our new Web site provides stakeholders with a clearer picture of how we track, measure and improve our own environmental performance, while assisting customers to go green in their organizations.”

Some of the key areas highlighted on the new environmental Web site include:

  • Environmental Policy and environmental Key Performance Indicators (eKPIs), including detailed quantitative environmental data from 2005, 2006 and 2007
  • How Office Depot buys green products for resale and internal use, including details on our exclusive Office Depot Green™ brand
  • Office Depot’s strategy for sourcing greener papers for marketing purposes – and increasing our use of certified papers year over year since 2004
  • Office Depot is increasingly being green in our own operations by reducing waste, energy, fuel and greenhouse gases, including reducing absolute greenhouse gases in our buildings and delivery vehicles
  • How Office Depot sells green in all business channels, including contract, Web and retail
