Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the number 42 Target Chevrolet, failed to qualify for Nascar’s championship contest this season. He finished 16th in the point standings, but Nascar rules allow only the top 12 drivers in the point standings to compete for the Sprint Cup during the final 10 races of the season.
