Name change for P&R Architects
Architectural firm P+R Architects (Perkowitz + Ruth Architects), based in Long Beach, California, has changed its name to Retail Design Collaborative.
The name change has been several years in the making and is driven by the 37-year-old firm’s desire to better align their brand and business positioning with all aspects of the retail realm, the company said. As e-commerce and traditional brick-and-mortar retail continues to find a balance, more emphasis is being placed on the experiential interaction within the retail environment. More so than in the past, the line between tenant typologies is blurring and retail is engaging with hospitality, creative office, food and beverage, entertainment and residential in ways it never has before.
“Our firm has been a leader in the retail architectural industry nationwide since 1979,” said Steve Ruth, rounder and CEO of Retail Design Collaborative. “As architects, we have experienced many moments of evolution within the retail and commercial markets. This rename reflects our deep commitment and passion to being thought leaders in all aspects of the retail realm.”
