Meijer cutting toy prices

12/8/2010

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Meijer announced that it is slashing prices on more than 350 popular products in its toy department. The Price Drop program was announced today by David Stickney, merchandise manager for toys at Meijer.

"A tough economic climate is continuing to make shoppers pare down their holiday lists," said Stickney. "Meijer's goal is to help our customers save money while still enjoying the tradition of gift giving during the holidays."

Meijer said it will offer up to 50% off select items including Barbie, Disney Princess Dolls and Transformers.  Other reduced-price items include toys from such popular brands as Fisher Price, Nerf, Hasbro and Mattel.  Meijer is also offering the popular Webkinz Plush Toys for $7, a 30% price reduction from the original price of $9.99.
