A lot of ways to say low prices
Target’s creativity is on display this holiday season, as the folks in the retailer’s marketing department find new ways to drive the message of low prices.
The most recent circular boasts, “our lowest holiday prices,” and the cover features a range of items to help people with their holiday entertaining preparations such as an 18-quart roaster, frying pans, a 12-cup coffee maker, KitchenAid stand mixer and Emerson microwave.
The low-price theme carries through the 32-page circular with bold headlines such as, “time to save on cozy gifts and holiday entertaining,” “great deals, no chills,” and “adorable warm-ups, affordable prices.”
Target’s 50-page toy catalog out this week, with prices in effect through the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, also emphasizes affordability with the tag line, “give more, spend less.” Products featured in the first few pages are offered as “gifts under $20” or “gifts under $15.” There are plenty of more expensive items featured, but additional savings on many of those items is possible thanks to an insert that features 48 coupons ranging in value from $5 to $20 off. Parents who really want to splurge can still do so with the ride-on Kota My Triceratops interactive dinosaur offered for $239.99.
