Kohl's Reopens Stores After Hurricane Ike
New York City A Kohl's Corp. executive said Tuesday that eight of its 22 stores in Texas that closed during Hurricane Ike have reopened, with more expected to follow shortly.
Kohl's CEO Kevin Mansell made the announcement, which was webcast, during a presentation at the Bank of America 38th Annual Investment Conference in San Francisco.
"It will take us another few days get rest up, depending on power availability," Mansell said.
He added that there were another eight or nine stores disrupted in Midwest on Sunday and Monday as the remnants of Hurricane Ike swept through.
"It's not a positive for the business, but in big picture of things out of 1,000 stores, its a few days in one or two markets," he said.
