J.C. Penney to roll out apparel line from Olympic gymnast
New York City J.C. Penney Co. in July will introduce a line of girls clothing from champion gymnast and five-time Olympic medalist Nastia Liukin, the Dallas Morning News said.
Warner Bros. partnered with Liukin to create the Supergirl by Nastia brand. The agreement with J.C. Penney is a multi-year exclusive arrangement. The clothing line is an extension of Supergirl Jam, an all-girls athletic competition and music festival for female athletes that Warner Bros. created four years ago. (Supergirl is the name of a character in Superman comics, which is owned by Warner Bros.)
The line, designed for girls 8 to 12 years old, will be promotionally priced from $11.99 to $21.99, and will be in stores in time for the back-to-school season, the report said.
