It’s back ... annual free online shipping event

Mark your calendars. Free Shipping Day, the one-day online event featuring free shipping with no minimum order requirement and delivery by Christmas Eve, is scheduled this year for Friday, Dec. 16.

"While we try to schedule the event one week before Christmas Eve, the calendar doesn't always accomodate," said Luke Knowles, founder of Free Shipping Day. "What sets Free Shipping Day apart from other shopping holidays is small business participation.”

In addition to such brands as Target, Walmart and JCPenney, independent online retailers and Etsy artisans waive shipping fees and offer unique wares to the hundreds of thousands of shoppers who visit the site during the event.



To participate, merchants must offer free shipping with no minimum order requirement and guarantee delivery by Christmas Eve for orders placed on Dec. 16. This year's merchants will be added to FreeShippingDay.com in the coming weeks, though some stores request not to be featured until the day of.
