Hey y’all! Paula Deen comes to Bentonville

Food Network personality Paula Deen may not have a reputation for healthy cooking, but that’s not stopping her from traveling to Walmart’s hometown this weekend to participate in American Heart Association activities and receive a key to the city.

Deen and her husband Michael Groover will accept the key to Bentonville from Mayor Bob McCaslin on Friday afternoon and later in the evening Deen will guest at a kick-off event and reception supporting the American Heart Association’s Southwest Chapter.

"I love the community of Bentonville and in my travels there, have always found the warmest, most generous community," Deen said. "It is an honor to help the Heart Association support their event and as one of their missions is to encourage all children to get more physically active and eat healthier, that’s a personal mission of mine as well."

Deen is introducing a new brand called Paula Deen Foods that will include pantry items and fresh meal solutions. The products will be at Walmart where Deen already has distribution for her line of cookware. She also has a new book due out this fall called The New Testament.
