Here’s to a hair free New Year

1/7/2013

NEW YORK — Same store sales at Bed Bath & Beyond could be in for a nice bump if a pricy new hair removal product becomes popular with shoppers.

The home and housewares retailer said it will carry the Silk’n Flash & Go hair removal device, manufactured by Home Skinovations, at all its U.S. and Canadian locations. The device, which retails for $299, is designed to remove hair on the face and body, including sensitive spots such as the upper lip and bikini area. Ergonomically designed, the device contends that it can remove hair permanently.

"We are very excited to be expanding into all Bed Bath & Beyond locations in Canada and the U.S.," said Moshe Mizrahy, CEO for Home Skinovations. "This chain-wide expansion represents the successful culmination of a series of tests throughout the territories. The commitment of Bed Bath & Beyond to the Silk'n brand is a definitive sign that the at home permanent hair removal category is a hit with consumers."

The product will also be available on the Bed Bath & Beyond’s Web site.
