Favorable Weather Ups Year-Over-Year Retail Figure

Chicago, ShopperTrak RCT Corp.'s National Retail Sales Estimate (NRSE) announced Tuesday that retail sales for the week ending Jan. 28 are up 6.6% from the same week in 2005.

According to the NRSE, this year’s mild weather—compared to harsher 2005 conditions—are primarily responsible for the significant year-over-year increase.

However, sales for the week ending Jan. 28 compared to the previous week ending Jan. 21 are down 3.4%.
