Eight Waldenbooks Stores Become Borders Express

Ann Arbor, Mich., Borders Group has converted eight of its Waldenbooks locations over to the Borders Express banner.

The locations include seven in Ohio: two in Akron, and one each in Cleveland, Elyria, Stow, Parma and Canton. An eighth location in Burlington, Wash., was converted, too.

In a separate development, Borders announced it would open a 17,000-sq.-ft. store in St. Joseph, Mo., this July.
