Dollar General supporting Christmas causes
Dollar General is leveraging the expansive reach of its more than 11,500 stores this holiday season to benefit several organizations aligned with the retailer’s mission of serving others.
The retailer is partnering with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s Thanks and Giving campaign and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation’s “You’re the Hero” toy drive, as well as other local toy drives, to offer customers an opportunity to give back this holiday season.
“Dollar General’s commitment to Serving Others is reflected through partnerships with these generous organizations that help to positively impact our communities, ” said Rick Dreiling, Dollar General’s chairman and CEO.
More than 11,500 Dollar General stores will collect gifts to benefit the Toys for Tots until Dec. 8. In addition, Dollar General will donate $100,000 to Toys for Tots to further its efforts and help even more children this holiday season.
For the ninth consecutive year, Dollar General is supporting the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign. Until Dec. 14 customers may donate $1 or more at check-out to benefit the children of St. Jude.
Since 2006, Dollar General and its customers have supported St. Jude by contributing more than $10.8 million to the Thanks and Giving campaign.
