Dollar General Adds In-Store Network

4/7/2008

Goodlettsville, Tenn. Dollar General is adding a TV network to its stores. The company began a limited rollout of DGTV last month to 500 stores in 13 markets.

The network broadcasts five-minute segments of content provided by the retailer and manufacturer partners.

Each store will feature a "DGTV Central" monitor, or a screen mounted above an end-cap display located near the checkout area, that showcases promotional materials.

The DGTV network will be available in the chain’s 4,200 stores by September. Chainwide installation is expected to be complete by January 2009.
