Disney Springs gets big retail infusion — one with a Michael Jordan connection

3/1/2016

The expanded Disney Springs (formerly called Downtown Disney) center in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., unveiled 30 new retail tenants that will be moving in when the project is completed.

The stores, 28 of which will be in the Town Center part of Disney Springs, will open in phases, beginning on May 15. The line-up include the first-ever location of Trophy Room, founded by Marcus Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan. Disney described the store as a “unique athletic retail boutique experience, inspired by the trophy room in the Jordan family estate.”

The Coca-Cola Store is inspired by a 1920's-era Coca-Cola bottling plant design and will feature a Coca-Cola Polar Bear experience and a rooftop beverage bar.

Under Armour is bringing its “brand house” concept to Disney Springs, in a two-story space that will feature an interactive experience geared toward young athletes who want to test their skills and talents.

The list of newly announced retailers includes: Anthropologie, Lacoste, Kate Spade New York, Sephora, Under Armour, MAC Cosmetics, Vince Camuto, Vera Bradley, Lucky Brand, Oakley, Alex and Ani, Na Hoku jewelers, Shore, American Threads, Volcom, Kipling, Francesca's, Melissa's Shoes, UNOde50 (jewelry), Johnston & Murphy, Everything But Water, Free People, Johnny Was, Columbia, Sperry and Luxury of Time by Diamonds International.

Disney Springs is made up of four distinct outdoor neighborhoods: The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and the still-under-construction Town Center.
