Delhaize sees 3.8% U.S. FY comps growth
BRUSSELS, Belgium Delhaize has reported revenues of $22.6 billion for its full year 2007. The company reported U.S. comparable-store sales growth of 3.8% for the year. According to the company this is the highest U.S. comps growth in more than ten years.
For the fourth quarter, the company reported that comparable-store sales in the U.S. were up 3.7%.
"During the fourth quarter, all of our U.S. operations continued good revenue momentum. U.S. consumer caution did not have a significant impact on our performance because of our many sales building initiatives," said Pierre-Olivier Beckers, president and ceo of Delhaize Group.
