CVS, Kodak offer consumers new photo options

7/16/2008

WOONSOCKET, R.I. and ROCHESTER, N.Y. In a partnership with Kodak, CVS is now the first national retailer to offer customers both Photo Books and Kodak Picture Movie DVDs. Using the Kodak Picture Kiosk, customers can turn their photos into hard-cover books or movies within minutes.

Customers can bring their photos--in nearly any format, from prints to memory cards--to CVS and have them either printed and bound or placed on a customized DVD almost immediately. For two weeks in July, CVS customers enrolled in the ExtraCare rewards program will receive credit for a single use of the cost of each of the two features.

CVS pioneered the in-store Kodak Photo Book service in 2007, and now with the DVDs, the company states it "is once again spearheading the adoption of an industry innovation."

The Photo Book promotional week will last through July 19 and includes the 4x6 or 6x8 book. The Kodak Picture Movie DVD promotional week will be July 27 through Aug. 2. ExtraCare cardholders will instantly receive back the price of the Photo Book or Kodak Picture Movie DVD in Extra Bucks, which can be used towards nearly anything in CVS.

Both products are now available in more than 4,500 CVS/pharmacy stores nationwide.
