Comps fall 3.2% at Kohl's
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. Kohl's reported today that sales for September increased 5.9% to $1.32 billion from $1.25 billion last year. On a comparable-store basis, sales decreased 3.2%.
Larry Montgomery, Kohl's chairman and ceo, commented, "September sales were affected by weak demand in weather-sensitive businesses such as long bottoms, fleece and sweaters. We expect our third quarter earnings to be at the low end of our previous earnings guidance of 67 cents to 71 cents per diluted share."
