Columbia Sportswear to Open on Michigan Avenue

Portland, Ore. Columbia Sportswear Co. said Tuesday that it will open a location on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue.

The new location is part of the company’s strategy to elevate the retail presentation of its brand and drive consumer demand for its assortment of outdoor apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment.

The announcement comes on the heels of Columbia’s recently announced plans to enter the Seattle retail market later this year.

The company has plans to build a network of Columbia-branded stores in key metropolitan markets over the next several years.
