Chico's to Partner With Debbie Phelps

Ft. Myers, Fla. Chico's FAS Inc. said Wednesday it officially inked an endorsement deal with Debbie Phelps, the mother of Olympic gold-medal swimmer Michael Phelps.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chico's said Debbie Phelps bought all of the clothes she wore at the Olympics at a Chico's store in Towson, Md., before departing to Beijing.

The company said it "took notice" that Phelps was wearing the chain's wrinkle-resistant Travelers Collection and approached her about a partnership.

"I've been one of Chico's biggest fans for years," Phelps said in a statement. "Every time I have a function or go to an international competition for Michael, I build my outfits using Chico's Travelers, print tops and jewelry."
