Bloomingdale's to make Arizona debut

CINCINNATI Bloomingdale's will make its Arizona debut in fall 2009 in the Northeast Valley area of Phoenix, Macy's Inc. announced today. The Phoenix store will be the 10th Bloomingdale's location in the western United States.

Macy's Inc. said that construction on the Phoenix Bloomingdale's store will begin this fall. The new store will be approximately 180,000 square feet on three levels. The store will feature Bloomingdale's signature upscale apparel and home merchandise, the company reported.

"We look forward to bringing Bloomingdale's unique merchandise, style and flair to central Arizona," said Michael Gould, Bloomingdale's chairman and ceo. "We believe that Bloomingdale's will provide a unique shopping experience for Phoenix, based on distinctive assortments and attentive and personalized service for which we are well-known."
