Big Lots monthly comps drop 0.6%

COLUMBUS, Ohio Big Lots today reported a comparable-store sales decrease of 0.6% for the fourth quarter, mostly due to softness in the toys and home category.

According to the company, the comparable-stores sales decline was in line with its guidance, which called for slightly negative comparable-store sales.

Total sales for the quarter were $1.4 billion, compared to $1.5 billion for the same period last year.
