Best Buy looks to help groups that help teens
MINNEAPOLIS Best Buy announced that it is looking to work with nonprofit groups focused on helping adolescents across the United States. The retailer has invited such groups to apply for a 2008 Local Giving grant.
The Best Buy Local Giving Program is a grant-making program led by employee committees in each of the company’s eight territories across the United States.
Nonprofits must submit their complete proposals online May 15 – June 15, 2008. Best Buy store leaders will then review the applications and make recommendations for funding based on the relationship between the store and the nonprofit. The employee governance committee in each territory will conduct a final review and allocate funds. Checks will be issued in August 2008.
