Barnes & Noble tells a social media tale

3/25/2015

Barnes & Noble is launching a Twitter giveaway to promote its famous in-store Storytimes.

The bookseller announced that its April lineup of free Storytime events includes a Picture Book of the Month selection, as well as a Twitter giveaway to encourage parents and children to attend.

The illustrator for the Picture Book of the Month selection "I Wish You More" will be illustrating the tweets of three lucky winners. The contest is sponsored by Chronicle Books. To participate in the #IWishYouMore Twitter Giveaway, customers can simply fill in the blanks and tweet “#IWishYouMore (blank) than (blank)” with hashtags #BNStorytime & #IWishYouMore. Three winners, selected by April 13, will have their tweets illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld. Winners will be announced on Chronicle’s social media channels and the Lichtenheld illustrations will be mailed to the winners’ homes.

Fans of the book can meet author Amy Krouse Rosenthal for a special Storytime at the Barnes & Noble store located at 1441 West Webster Avenue in Chicago, Ill., on April 11, at 11 a.m.

Barnes & Noble Storytimes are free and open to the public. All events are subject to change. Customers should visit the Barnes & Noble Store Locator (www.bn.com/storelocator) for more information about events at their local store. During all Barnes & Noble Storytime readings and activities, parents and guardians are encouraged to take pictures and post to their personal social media sites using the hashtag #BNStorytime.
