Barnes & Noble names head of New Writers program
NEW YORK — Barnes & Noble announced that Miwa Messer has been named director of the Discover Great New Writers program. Established in 1990, the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers program has championed new talent and been a showcase for our commitment to new writers, the company reported.
A career bookseller, Miwa joined Barnes & Noble in 1998 as author promotions manager. She produced author events and managed literary forums at Barnes & Noble showcases: Writers on Writers, Upstairs at the Square, B&N Review in Person. Prior to joining Barnes & Noble, she was publicity and new nedia manager at Grove/Atlantic Inc. and held management and buying positions at Waterstone’s Booksellers, USA.
