Payless ShoeSource said that it has signed a deal with fashion designer Stacey Bendet, mastermind behind the alice + olivia designer label, to create the alice + olivia for Payless collection, Bendet’s first-ever footwear collection, which will be exclusively available at Payless stores and alice + olivia boutiques in spring and summer 2008.

Carter’s announced the appointment of former Gap Inc. vp Jim Petty as its president of retail stores. Petty has over 20 years of experience leading branded retail companies, including more than seven years with Limited Too, the largest brand of Tween Brands. Prior to Tween Brands, Petty spent over 13 years with Gap Inc., where he was vp of store operations and part of the start up teams for Banana Republic and Old Navy.

Goody’s Family Clothing said Amy Luttrell and Jubal Skidgell have both been appointed to the position of vp, divisional merchandise manager.

Since joining Goody’s in 1999, Luttrell, who will oversee the juniors area, has served as a buyer in both the juniors and shoe divisions.

Skidgell, who will now oversee center core, gifts and home, came to Goody’s in 2000 as a buyer in the accessories area and was promoted to divisional merchandise manager of that area.
