American Eagle, Macy’s employ Facebook mobile feature

New York City American Eagle Outfitters and Macy’s announced Wednesday they will participate in Facebook Deals, which provides customers with special offers when they check in to Facebook Places using their smartphones.

When customers check in to Facebook Places from a Macy’s store, they will get a pop-up yellow icon that will include an offer for 20% off most apparel, accessories, jewelry and select home items, or 10% off electrics/electronics, furniture and mattresses.

At American Eagle Outfitters (or the retailer’s other two brands, aerie and 77kids), customers will receive 20% off their entire purchase, simply by showing their phone to the AEO associate at the cash-and-wrap counter.
