Aeropostale profit leaps 13% in Q2, sales miss Street

New York City Aeropostale reported late Thursday that its net income jumped 13% to $43.6 million, up from $38.6 million in the year-ago period. The company cited rising sales for the improvement.

Revenue grew 9% to $494.7 million. Wall Street expected revenue of $503.6 million.

Same-store sales grew 4%.
