New owner to close all Salt Life stores; focus on e-commerce, wholesale

Salt Life will live to see another day, but not in brick-and-mortar.

The active lifestyle brand and its related assets were acquired at a bankruptcy action by brand management company Iconix International Inc. in partnership with the Hilco Consumer-Retail Group. Hilco said it will support Iconix in transitioning  Salt Life to  a wholesale and e-commerce business model, including conducting liquidation sales at Salt Life’s 28 stores. Of the locations, 15 are in Florida.

The store closing sales, which started on Sept.20, include store fixtures and equipment. Additionally, Hilco will oversee the sale of inventory from distribution centers through a streamlined wholesale process.
