Office Depot has ended its hunt for a new CFO.
Office Depot named D. Anthony Scaglione as executive VP and CFO, effective July 20, 2020. He succeeds Joseph T. Lower, who left in November to become CFO of Auto Nation Inc., and joins Office Depot as it continues its transformation from a traditional office-supplies retailer to a B2B solutions provider.
Most recently, Scaglione served as executive VP and CFO of ABM Industries Inc. Prior to ABM Industries, Scaglione held executive finance positions at CA Technologies.
“We are delighted to welcome Anthony to Office Depot as we accelerate our transformation to a B2B platform that our customers rely on to start, grow and manage their business,” said CEO Gerry Smith. “Anthony brings extensive financial, operational and strategic experience to our executive team.”
In May, Office Depot announced a three-year restructuring plan to “realign” its operational focus to support its business-to-business solutions and IT services units. As part of the plan, Office Depot intends to eliminate 13,100 jobs and close an unspecified number of stores and distribution centers.
