Neiman Marcus is releasing NFTs honoring women trailblazers.
Neiman Marcus Group is recognizing Women’s History Month through a variety of digital and in-person initiatives and collaborations.
As part of its Women’s History Month celebration, the luxury retailer is partnering with Boss Beauties, a women-led global initiative and non-fungible token (NFT) project, to unveil its new "Role Models" NFT collection.
This new assortment featuring 25 one-of-a-kind NFT's honoring women who have shattered the “glass ceiling” throughout history will be launched March 9-12 on the OpenSea digital NFT marketplace and includes an NFT of Neiman Marcus co-founder Carrie Marcus Neiman, as well as of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Katherine Johnson, and Frida Kahlo.
NFTs are unique digital assets stored on a blockchain ledger that certifies the owner. There is no way for an NFT to have more than one owner, and only the certified owner can sell it.
This assortment of NFT designs will be featured in various Neiman Marcus store windows throughout the month. A portion of the profits from the NFT sales will go to providing scholarships and mentoring programs for girls and women.
In further partnership with Boss Beauties, The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation will be sponsoring young women to visit Dallas and meet with some of the company’s female leaders at the downtown store location later this year.
Neiman Marcus will also host a series of women's leadership panels in all stores. With over 100 women participating, panelists include actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, Fashionnphile founder Sarah Davis, and designer Autumn Adeigbo. In addition, the company will support the non-profit Runway of Dreams by sponsoring "A Fashion Revolution," an adaptive fashion show to support people with disabilities.
Throughout March, stores will host panels for women leaders across communities in all Neiman Marcus store locations. Panelists will include CEOs, designers, and philanthropists. In addition, women entrepreneurs and innovators are showcased on Neiman Marcus' online magazine through a spotlight "The Future Is In Her Hands" story, highlighting leaders across areas including retail, sustainability, tech, design, and more. Emerging and women-led and designed labels will also be featured throughout Neiman Marcus' website, including Eileen Fisher, Lafayette 148 New York, and Vintner's Daughter.
