‘Natural health’ minimalist footwear brand Vivobarefoot to open first U.S. store
Vivobarefoot is poised to make its U.S. debut in New York City.
Described as a “natural health footwear brand,” Vivobarefoot will open a flagship in June, in Manhattan’s SoHo district. The news follows the opening of the company’s American regional headquarters, in Austin, Texas.
Based in London, Vivobarefoot champions regenerative, minimalist footwear for natural movement. The brand specializes in sustainable, barefoot-inspired shoes (for hiking, running, weightlifting etc.) designed with zero-drop soles, wide toe boxes and flexible materials. According to the company, wearing Vivobarefoot can increase foot strength by up to 60% in just six months.
SoHo Store
Inspired by the principles of nature, regeneration and sensory immersion, the 1,500-sq.-ft. SoHo store is designed to bring visitors closer to nature. The light-filled, plant-rich space blends natural materials, calming scents and thoughtful lighting, an environment crafted to “help people slow down, breathe and reconnect with their feet,” the company stated. Every element of the store has been selected to minimize environmental impact, from renewable materials and modular fittings to low-energy systems and circular design principles.
In addition to Vivobarefoot’s full footwear collections for adults and kids, the store will feature foot scanning and movement analysis, and access to the brand’s Revivo program, offering repaired and reconditioned footwear.
A preview area, “VivoBiome,” will showcase the the brand’s circular, made-to-measure footwear innovation. The store will host weekly events and workshops led by natural movement specialists and community ambassadors.
"Vivobarefoot began with a simple but uncomfortable truth: modern footwear is part of the problem, so we chose to do something about it,” said Galahad Clark, co-Founder & CEO. “This store is an invitation to reconnect, to rediscover what your feet are actually designed to do. Because when you restore natural movement, you don’t just change how you walk, you change your relationship with your body, with your health, and ultimately with the planet. We believe footwear can be regenerative. Free your feet, and the rest will follow.”
