Murphy USA CEO to depart, successor named
Murphy USA Inc. has named an insider as its next CEO.
The convenience retailer, which operates stores under the Murphy USA, Murphy Express and QuickChek brands, said that Mindy K. West, its current COO, will also serve as president, effective immediately, and will succeed Andrew Clyde as the company’s president and CEO, effective Jan, 1, 2026.
West will also become a member of the board of directors on that date, while Clyde will retire from the board on Dec. 31, 2025.
Clyde joined Murphy USA ahead of the spin-off in 2013 following a 20-year career at consulting firm Booz & Company, where he served in various roles including North American energy practice leader and Dallas office managing partner. Murphy USA credits Clyde with operating a successful “value-creation strategy” and overseeing the expansion of the business during his tenure as CEO.

West joined Murphy Oil Corporation, Murphy USA’s former parent, in 1996 and held various positions across finance, HR and planning. In 2013, she was named executive VP, CFO & treasurer of Murphy USA. West was named COO in February 2024 and assumed responsibility for additional commercial and operating functions.
