Mod Pizza names new CEO as founder moves on to new role

A fast-casual artisan pizza chain know for its “purpose-led, people-first” culture has tapped a restaurant and hospitality veteran as chief executive.

Mod Super-Fast Pizza Holdings said that Beth Scott has joined the fast-growing company as CEO and a member of the board.  As part of a planned transition, Scott Svenson, who co-founded the company in 2008 with his wife Ally and has led the business for the past 15 years, will assume the role of executive chairperson. In his new role, Svenson will remain fully committed to Mod Pizza with a focus on supporting Scott and the leadership team, while also leading the board, the company said.

Most recently, Scott she served as chief restaurant officer at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, a half-billion-dollar business where she oversaw operations and development teams. Before that, she spent four years at Bloomin’ Brands as president of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. 

In the hospitality sector, as VP at Hilton Hotels, Scott she led the food and beverage strategy across their luxury and full-service hotel brands. She was also with Disney Parks & Resorts, where she led food and beverage experience planning and integration as a global VP.

Mod operates more 540 locations across 29 states and Canada. Scott will be based in Mod’s support center in Bellevue, Wash.
