Michaels crafts new delivery option

The Michaels Companies is rolling out contactless, same-day delivery across the U.S.

The specialty arts-and-crafts retailer is expanding its product delivery options with the nationwide rollout of a same-day delivery option at select U.S. stores. Michaels will launch the new contactless service on Friday, April 17, beginning in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The company will continuing deploying the new service nationally the following week.

When customers visit the Michaels e-commerce site to purchase supplies, the new same-day Delivery option will appear at check-out if the service is available at a customer’s location. Customers, including home-based small businesses and teachers using virtual classrooms as well as individual crafters, will continue to have the choice of the ship-to-home service or curbside pick-ups at participating stores.

Safety protocol for Michaels’ contactless delivery service requires the delivery person to place packages at the customer’s door and return to their vehicle after knocking or ringing the doorbell.

Same-day delivery applies to orders placed prior to 1:00 p.m. local time. Orders placed after 1:00 pm are delivered the following day. Online purchases can be delivered within a 10-mile radius of participating stores for a flat fee of $7.99 for orders of $100 more ($14.99 for orders less than $100).
