Massage Envy names new chief marketer

Massage Envy has named a 25-year marketing veteran to its leadership team.

The nation’s leading provider of massage and skincare services appointed Julie Cary as chief marketing and innovation officer, effective Sept. 15. Cary will lead all consumer and employee brand marketing functions, including brand strategy and promotion, retail & service innovation, digital marketing, field marketing, public relations and social media.

Most recently, Cary served as chief marketing officer for La Quinta Inns and Suites for 12 years, where for among her most recent career experiences, she played a key role in the revitalization and expansion of the franchised hotel chain. Prior that that, Cary served as the chief customer officer for department store retailer, Belk, where she created a new brand positioning and identity, and improved media effectiveness.
