  • Coop enhances store communications with Reflexis solution

    Basel, Switzerland – Switzerland’ largest food retailer, Coop, has rolled out Reflexis Task Manager to its stores. Coop uses the application to: communicate efficiently and effectively between corporate, field, and stores; improve planning; and benefit from feedback, sharing of best practices, and real-time visibility into task execution.

  • New retail concept to debut in Manhattan

    New York -- A new retail concept, coop & spree, will open its first location this August, in the trendy Nolita section of Manhattan. Targeted at stylish young women, the store will combine apparel and accessory designers from around the world with interactive technologies. Digital tablets will be located throughout the space to help customers build and accessorize outfits, while the in-store photo booth will allow shoppers to share style inspiration with friends.

  • Empowering sales associates in an information-enabled world

    The way people shop has completely changed over the past five years. A large part of this change in behavior has been driven by online access to information. Shoppers now have easy access to more product information than ever before. Yet as the modern buying experience has changed dramatically, the in-store experience at most retailers has remained frozen in time. In particular, most sales associates do not have tools at their disposal that might allow them to keep up with the information-empowered shoppers they now serve.
     

  • Uniqlo opens new stores in Germany, United States

    Tokyo – Uniqlo opens new stores in Berlin, and in three U.S. locations on Friday, April 11. The 2,700-sq.-ft., three-story Berlin store is located on the Tauentzienstrasse shopping boulevard and is Uniqlo’s first German store.

    The Berlin store is also the largest Uniqlo store in Europe and features revolving mannequins wearing origami headdresses and LED ticker-tapes listing all the cities where Uniqlo has stores around the world.

  • Versatile Systems taps new financial chief

    Versatile Systems, a multi-disciplinary technology company with solutions across the mobile, digital signage, IT infrastructure, software and hardware landscape, has appointed Vicki Turjan as chief financial officer.

    The company is turning to Turjan to enhance its growth and increase operational efficiencies.

  • Sony Entertainment launches mobile content purchase in Canada

    San Mateo, Calif. -- Sony Network Entertainment International LLC and Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC have unveiled a new feature that enables users of participating mobile networks in Canada to top up their account wallet to purchase content from the PlayStation Store and across Sony Entertainment Network using a mobile phone account.

  • Staples testing 3D printing services in two locations

    Framingham, Mass. -- Staples has partnered with 3D Systems, a leading provider of 3D content-to-print solutions, to test 3D printing services in two stores in New York and Los Angeles.

    Each store features a 3D printing center that lets consumers and small businesses create personalized products and use 3D printing hardware. Customers can also bring in their own 3D print-ready files to have them printed.
