  • Francesca’s Holdings on track to open 76 stores in 2012

    New York – The fast-growing Francesca’s Holdings Corp. plans to open 76 stores in 2012.

    The Houston-based women’s apparel and accessories retailer, which targets young women, has opened 21 new stores so far in 2012, with plans to open 55 additional locations by year-end.

    Currently, Francesca’s operates 304 locations nationwide.

  • GE Capital Retail Bank renews consumer financing agreement with Discount Tire

    Stamford, Conn. -- GE Capital Retail Bank has announced a multi-year renewal to continue providing financing for customers of Discount Tire, the nation’s leading independent tire retailer. GE Capital’s Retail Finance business, the operating entity that provides financial solutions to retailers and dealers to help grow their customer sales, will continue to manage the Discount Tire relationship and service the account.

  • Office Depot to open 13 remodeled stores in Houston market

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Office Depot Inc. will open 13 newly remodeled locations in the Houston area on March 28.

    The updates stores feature more colorful signage and easy-to-navigate floor plans. The stores were redesigned based on customer feedback and shopping patterns.

    Office Depot operates 1,677 stores in 60 countries, 46 of which are located in the Houston area.

  • Saks reopens Off 5th store in Nashville

    NEW YORK — Closed by floods in May 2010, the Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th at Opry Mills in Nashville, Tenn., will reopen on March 29.

    Located next to the Grand Ole Opry House, the approximate 27,500-sq.-ft. store will be located in the Opry Mills Shopping Center. Operated by Simon Malls, upon completion, the center will be the largest shopping outlet in Tennessee, with over 200 stores, multiple restaurants and an in-house movie theater.

  • The Container Store deploys Lucas Systems’ voice-picking solution in Dallas-area DC

    Pittsburgh -- Lucas Systems, a provider of voice directed warehouse applications, announced that The Container Store has installed Jennifer VoicePlus for voice picking in the retailer’s Dallas- area, 1.1 million-sq.-ft. distribution center.

  • Limited expanding footprint in California by 30%

    Columbus, Ohio -- The Limited on Friday will open a 4,300-sq.-ft. store in Westfield Galleria Mall, Roseville, Calif., one of four new locations the chain will open this year in California. The women’s apparel retailer is also completely remodeling a fifth, representing 21,000 gross sq. ft. of new retail space in the Golden State.

  • Saks’ Off 5th reopening in new center

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th announced that it plans to reopen its Nashville, Tenn., store on March 29.

    Located next to the Grand Ole Opry House, the approximate 27,500-sq.-ft. store will be located in the Opry Mills Shopping Center. Operated by Simon Malls, upon completion, the center will be the largest shopping outlet in Tennessee, with over 200 stores, multiple restaurants and an in-house movie theater.

    The reopening marks Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th’s return to Opry Mills after it was closed by floods in May 2010.
