    Indianapolis -- Simon Property Group announced that it will assume leasing, management, and marketing duties of the Fox Run Mall in Newington, N.H. Simon will commence this new role at Fox Run on May 15.

  • Roundy’s Supermarkets partners with Grocery Shopping Network on enhanced websites

    Minneapolis -- Grocery Shopping Network has announced the launch of newly enhanced consumer websites for Milwaukee based Roundy’s Supermarkets.

    The launch includes the websites of Roundy’s five store banners: Pick ’n Save, Rainbow Foods, Copps Food Centers, Metro Market and Mariano’s Fresh Market.

  • Wal-Mart CEO sees progress in turning around U.S. sales

    New York City -- Wal-Mart Stores is making progress bringing items and shoppers back to its U.S. stores, president and CEO Mike Duke said Tuesday at the Barclays Capital analyst conference in New York City. 

    Duke noted that improving the chain’s U.S. same-store sales remains its top priority. He said the chain is on its way to having the right assortment.

  • Office Depot reports Q1 loss amid weak sales

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Office Depot reported a first quarter loss of $5.4 million, down from a profit of $29.5 million in the prior-year period, amid weaker sales and a higher tax rate.

    Total company sales for the quarter were $2.97 billion, down 3% from last year.

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) GreenChill program. The program further Target's efforts to reduce refrigeration emissions by adopting green refrigeration technologies in its stores.

  • RadioShack to sell $300 million in debt

    Dallas -- RadioShack Corp. said Monday that it plans to sell $300 million in debt that will come due in 2019.

    The retailer said it plans to use the proceeds from the sale of the senior notes for general corporate purposes, which may include stock buybacks.

  • Best Buy CEO’s pay package falls 51%

    New York City -- The CEO of Best Buy received a pay package worth about $5 million in the most recent fiscal year, half what he got the year before, according to a document the company filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Associated Press said.

    Brian Dunn, 50, received a base salary of $1 million and a performance-based bonus of $746,667, down 75% from his performance based bonus the year before. Dunn received option awards valued at $3.2 million when they were granted, down 48%.
