    NEW YORK and MONTVALE, N.J. — Grocer A&P has inked an exclusive partnership with BrightFarms, becoming the only retailer of BrightFarms’ Brooklyn-grown produce from the world’s largest rooftop farm.

  • TruConnect and Walmart debut new prepaid mobile broadband service

    Los Angeles -- TruConnect Mobile LLC announced it has partnered with Walmart Stores to deliver a new prepaid mobile broadband service called Internet on the Go.

    The new offering, which is exclusively sold at Walmart, features a service plan from TruConnect with no monthly fee and where the data balance never expires (if used once a year). This is different from other low-cost prepaid monthly services where unused megabytes are wasted at the end of the month – potentially driving up the cost.

  • Saks Off 5th to open in Carousel Center, Syracuse, N.Y.

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue’s Off 5th plans to open its doors in Syracuse’s Carousel Center on June 21.

    The 24,962-sq.-ft. store will be located in the center’s new expansion area called Destiny USA, which is the largest LEED certified commercial retail project in the country.

  • P&G lowers quarterly guidance

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble has issued more conservative guidance for its quarter ending in June and unveiled preliminary guidance for fiscal year 2013.

    Speaking at the Deutsche Bank Global Consumer Conference in Paris, P&G board chairman, president and CEO Bob McDonald said, "We are making the necessary adjustments to our growth strategy to increase focus on our core business and to achieve more balanced growth across geographies, product categories and the top and bottom lines."

  • Children’s Place COO departs

    Secaucus, N.J. -- The Children’s Place announced that Eric Bauer left the company, effective June 19, 2012. President and CEO Jane Elfers will resume oversight of retailer’s supply chain, store operations, finance, information technology and real estate functions.

    Elfers said: “We thank Eric for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
     

  • USM headquarters received LEED Silver

    Norristown, Pa. -- As part of its continuing commitment to sustainability, USM Inc. has recently received LEED Silver CI (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors) certification for its headquarters facility in Norristown, Pa. The facility opened in October 2011.
