    Redwood City, Calif. -- Online fashion retailer Revolve is leveraging the eCommera Dynamic Action solution to perform daily analysis of a broad set of data points. By analyzing disparate information ranging from search and affiliate data to merchandising and shipping data on a unified basis, Revolve seeks to improve its business decision-making.

  • Francesca’s Q2 net disappoints; on track for 87 new stores

    Houston – Francesca’s Holdings Corp. grew its net income and sales during the second quarter of this year compared to the second quarter of last year, despite a slight drop in same-store sales. Net income grew about 15%, from $12.7 million to $14.6 million, while net sales rose 17% to $89.6 million.

  • Law firm investigates claims against Genesco

    Nashville, Tenn. - Harwood Feffer LLP is investigating potential claims against the board of directors of Genesco Inc., concerning whether the board has breached its fiduciary duties to shareholders. On August 29, 2013, Genesco disclosed that it may be forced to restate certain financial statements due to potential violations of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Dollar General beats estimates with record results

    Goodlettsville, Tenn. – Dollar General reported record net income and sales for the second quarter of this year. In addition, same-store sales growth beat analyst estimates by almost a full percentage point.

    Net income increased by 15% to $245 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2013, compared to net income of $214 million in the second quarter of the prior fiscal year. Net sales increased 11.3% to $4.39 billion, compared to $3.95 billion in the second quarter of the previous year. Analysts had expected net sales of $4.36 billion.

  • Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores posts Q2 loss

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc.’s second-quarter net income dropped to $9.1 million, down from $21.1 million a year earlier, on expenses associated with its spinoff from Sears Holdings Corp. The company also announced that its board approved a $25 million buyback.

    Revenue increased 2% to $656.9 million from $644.5 million. Same-store sales rose 1.4%, with an 8.2% increase for the chain’s outlet segment.

  • Michaels’ profit jumps 54%

    Irving, Texas -- Michaels Stores Inc.’s second-quarter profit soared 53.8% amid higher sales and lower interest expenses.

    The retailer reported a profit of $20 million for the quarter ended Aug. 3, compared with $13 million a year earlier.
    Sales inched up 1.3% to $904 million. Same-store sales fell 1.3%, due to a 3.6% decrease in transactions and a 0.4% decrease in deferred custom framing revenue, which was partially offset by a 2.7% increase in the company's average ticket.

  • Guess Q2 income tops estimates

    Los Angeles -- Guess Inc. reported net income for the second quarter above expectations due to improving sales in North America.

    Net income fell 7% to $39.8 million, down from $42.9 million a year ago.

    Overall sales rose 0.6% to $639 million. In North America, which accounts for about 40% of the chain’s revenue, retail sales were up 1%.

    Same-store sales fell 2%, compared to a 10% drop in the first quarter.

  • Genesco Q2 estimate disappoints; slashes full-year profit outlook

    Nashville, Tenn. -- Footwear retailer Genesco estimated second-quarter results below analysts' forecast. The company also slashed its adjusted profit outlook for the current year.

    “We are disappointed that our second quarter performance fell short of expectations,” said Robert J. Dennis, chairman, president and CEO of Genesco. “Sales trends proved to be more challenging as the quarter progressed and results came in below our plan. The third quarter has gotten off to a difficult start with comparable sales down 3% through Aug. 24.
