  • Fraport to manage retail malls at four U.S. airports

    Frankfurt, Germany – Germany-based airport management services provide the Fraport Group has expanded its international portfolio in the global airport market by acquiring 100% of U.S.-based AMU Holdings Inc., which owns Airmall USA Holdings Inc. Airmall markets space at the aviation hubs of Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

  • Whole Foods Market to make Irvine, California, debut

    Irvine, Calif. -- Whole Foods Market and the Irvine Company announced that the companies have signed a lease to bring the first Whole Foods Market to Irvine, California.

    The organic and natural grocer will occupy approximately 40,000 sq. ft. at Los Olivos Marketplace, a specialty shopping center just off the 405 freeway at Irvine Center Drive in Irvine Spectrum.

  • Nordstrom acquires personalized clothing service for men

    Nordstrom has entered into an agreement to acquire Trunk Club, a personalized clothing service for men.

    Trunk Club delivers a stylist service that combines the convenience of online with a high-touch, personalized shopping experience. Nordstrom plans to leverage the acquisition to offer superior customer service and a seamless shopping experience.

  • Report: Amazon expands in-home services pilot

    Seattle – Amazon.com is reportedly expanding a pilot of in-home installation and repair services from Seattle to markets including New York and Los Angeles. According to Reuters, Amazon has been running the pilot in Seattle since mid-2012.

  • Couche Tard buys 55 Super Pantry stores in Illinois, Indiana

    Laval, Canada - Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. will acquire 55 Super Pantry convenience stores and related assets from Tri Star Marketing Inc. Fifty-one of the stores are located in the state of Illinois ,and four stores located in the state of Indiana. These stores offer Phillips 66 and Mobil branded motor fuel.

  • Amazon to invest $2 billion in Indian operation

    Seattle – Amazon.com is making a serious bid to control the Indian e-commerce market with a planned $2 billion investment in its Indian operation. In a statement emailed to major U.S. media outlets, Amazon said it sees “huge potential” in India’s economy and e-commerce market.

  • Nordstrom Rack to open in Staten Island

    New York — Nordstrom has announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at the Empire Outlets in Staten Island. The 34,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in fall 2016. The property is being developed by BFC Partners.

  • Q3 net income falls at Destination Maternity; 21-23 new stores planned

    Philadelphia – Net income at Destination Maternity Corp. fell 36% to $5.5 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2014 from $8.6 million a year earlier. Expenses related to the planned relocation of Destination Maternity’s corporate headquarters and distribution facilities, as well as costs related to its proposed and withdrawn merger with Mothercare plc, drove the reduction in net income.
