  • Petco fetches deal with e-retailer

    As the pet supply industry continues to experience record growth, Petco is looking to expand its online offerings to include prescription services and more premium products.

    Petco has agreed to acquire Drs. Foster & Smith, a Wisconsin-based online pet store founded by veterinarians. Drs. Foster & Smith specializes in pet care and education and is known for veterinary expertise on prescription medications and premium products for dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, horses and small animals.

  • True Value CEO to appear on “Undercover Boss”

    New York - The chief executive of hardware giant True Value is going undercover—on television that is. True Value Company president and CEO John Hartmann will appear in the season premiere of "Undercover Boss," which airs on Dec. 14 on CBS. 
  • Zappos to feed millions this Thanksgiving weekend

    Zappos.com says it will celebrate Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend by donating 10 meals per order placed on Zappos.com in partnership with Feeding America, the leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

    The company says the objective of its Fast, Free Giving effort is to give back this holiday season and for consumers to put their dollars behind more than just holiday gifts: to help those most in need, too.

    True Value’s boss went undercover, and the cameras were rolling. True Value Company president and CEO John Hartmann will appear in the season six premiere of "Undercover Boss" airing on Dec. 14 on CBS. 

  • Domino’s enters Kenya

    Ann Arbor, Mich. – Domino’s Pizza is continuing its international growth by opening its first store in Kenya. Master Kenya franchise holder Om Nom Nom Ltd. opened a store in Nairobi Nov.8 and will open more stores in the city in the next few years.
    "Establishing ourselves in Kenya provides an excellent opportunity for our brand to continue growing globally," said Ritch Allison, Domino's Pizza international president. "Domino's has terrific potential to offer an unmatched pizza experience to the people of Nairobi."

  • Tractor Supply Company plans new Arizona distribution center

    Brentwood, Tenn. - Tractor Supply Company plans to build a new distribution center in Casa Grande, Arizona. Located in the Central Arizona Commerce Park, the facility is expected to begin operating in the fourth quarter of 2015 and will be approximately 650,000-sq.-ft., with the potential to create more than 250 local jobs.
    Tractor Supply Company's new distribution center will have the potential to service approximately 250 stores in the Southwest region. Currently, the company operates more than 1,360 stores in 49 states across the country.

  • DHL rebrands mail service as DHL eCommerce

    Weston, Fla. –- Logistics and transportation provide DHL is changing the brand name of DHL Global Mail to DHL eCommerce as the company focuses to provide customers with new e-commerce solutions.  
  • Sheetz opens new Burlington, N.C., distribution center

    Altoona, Penn. -- C-store operator Sheetz cut the ceremonial red ribbon to officially open its new Burlington (North Carolina) Distribution Center.    The $33 million facility contains a Sheetz Bros kitchen, distribution and warehousing center for the Sheetz distribution fleet. There is also be space for various corporate support departments.
