  • Gap sees opportunity in China

    HANGZHOU, China -- Gap Inc. is expanding its presence in China. The company announced that it has opened an online Gap store (gap.tmall.com) on Taobao Mall, the business-to-consumer platform within Taobao, China’s largest retail website. Gap's Taobao Mall store will offer a wide selection of stylish products from Gap, GapKids and baby gap, the company reported.

  • Bar Louie selects Jones Lang LaSalle for 100-location expansion

    Chicago – Bar-and-restaurant concept Bar Louie said Tuesday it is undertaking a major national expansion initiative of more than 100 new locations in 20 markets nationwide and has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle as its exclusive real estate advisor.

    Jones Lang LaSalle will work in tandem with Bar Louie’s real estate team and select brokers in various markets to leverage both tenant-favorable conditions, as well as the availability of vacant full-amenity restaurant space located within high-density urban and suburban markets.

  • Victoria’s Secret Pink division names CEO

    Columbus, Ohio -- Limited Brands said Wednesday it has promoted Denise Landman to CEO of its Victoria’s Secret Pink brand.

    Landman, who is a 12-veteran of Limited Brands, most recently served as president of Pink.

    The brand, which surpassed $1 billion in sales mark last year, has 22 stores nationwide as well as a presence in most Victoria’s Secret stores and online.

  • Legendary French model named latest L'Oreal Paris ambassador

    PARIS  -- L'Oreal Paris announced that it has named Madame Ines de la Fressange as its latest ambassador.

    "Ines de la Fressange, our new L'Oreal Paris spokeswoman, has divine grace, that very contemporary way of being a woman, at once free, unexpected and mesmerizing. An accomplished model, mother and designer, she leads a full life. I am delighted that she is bringing that irresistible 'je ne sais quoi' to the brand," says Cyril Chapuy, global brand president L'Oreal Paris.

  • La Mar Peruvian restaurant to open on Madison Square Park

    New York City -- Robert K. Futterman & Associates said it has brought Gastón Acurio's Peruvian restaurant concept La Mar to New York City's Madison Square Park, as Acurio’s company has taken over the former Tabla space at 11 Madison Ave.

    RKF recently arranged the retail lease assignment, including approximately 9,000 sq. ft. on two floors, in the Credit Suisse Building on the southeast corner of 25th Street.

    The restaurant is slated to open in the fall.

  • Target celebrates Earth Month

    MINNEAPOLIS -- Target announced that as part of its Earth Month celebration, it is offering customers the chance to win a "Refresh Your Nest" home makeover worth up to $50,000 with the help of LEED accredited designer Sabrina Soto, as well as hundreds of other sustainable prizes. Guests can log on to Target.com/Eco to enter the sweepstakes.

    The Target.com/Eco site also features sustainable products for purchase, sustainable decorating tips from Soto and coupons for use at Target stores.

  • Saks extends credit agreement to 2016, revises terms

    New York City -- Saks said Tuesday that lenders have agreed to amend a $500 million revolving credit agreement that now extends to 2016. The agreement also favorably revises other terms.

    As a result, the department store retailer estimates its 2011 interest expenses will total about $50 million, down from its previous estimate of $51 million to $53 million.

    The debt previously was scheduled to mature Nov. 23, 2013. Now, it matures March 29, 2016.
