  • Kohl’s Q2 profit beats expectations on cost controls; sales disappoint

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s Corp. reported a better-than-expected second-quarter profit amid efforts to control costs. Sales, however, disappointed.

    The retailer posted a second-quarter profit of $240 million, down from $299 million in the year-ago period.

    Net sales were $4.2 billion, down 1.0% from last year. Same-store sales decreased 2.7% for the quarter.

The new back to school section is available both in English as well as in Spanish through a newly released Spanish language version of Zoomingo's Android application.

    Columbus, Ohio -- Lane Bryant is launching a new national marketing and brand initiative beginning in September with a comprehensive print ad campaign, a fresh and modern brand logo and color palette, with updated in-store visuals, web and social media sites. This will be the company's first comprehensive branding and marketing effort since 2008.

  • Westfield San Francisco Centre announces fashion debuts

    San Francisco -- Los Angeles-based Westfield Group said that Westfield San Francisco Centrewill welcome a lineup of new luxury retailers to the mall.

    This fall, menswear retailer Onassis Clothing will open a 2,500-sq.-ft. store. Located next to Bloomingdale’s on Level 2, the new Westfield San Francisco Centre store will be the brand’s third location and its first outside of New York.

    Burberry Brit, a casual sportswear concept, opens a standalone 2,500-sq.-ft. store selling apparel, handbags and shoes on Level 1.
