    Los AngelesCaruso Affiliated has appointed Judy Johnson to the newly created post of chief marketing and communications officer.   • H&M to open two new retail formats in U.S.

    New York -- Swedish fast-fashion retailer H&M said on Thursday it will debut two of its newer retail formats, COS and & Other Stories, in the United States this year.

    H&M will open its first COS U.S. location this April in New York City’s SoHo area. A second U.S. store will open later this year, in Beverly Hills, Calif.

    The retailer’s & Other Stories banner will make its U.S. debut this fall, opening a store in downtown Manhattan.

  • Mobiquity mobile iBeacon SDK

    Wellesley, Mass. -- Mobiquity Technologies, Inc. has released its partner software development kit (SDK) designed to allow retailers and brands to leverage Mobiquity Networks’ (a wholly owned subsidiary) Bluetooth LE Beacon network. Mobiquity Networks already owns and operates a location-based, mobile advertising Bluetooth network in shopping malls, which supports Bluetooth LE Beacon technology.  

  • Weather was no match for Conn’s in fourth quarter

    Everything from portfolio growth to weather posed a challenge to Conn’s, but it was no match as the company’s business model remained resilient in the fourth quarter.

    Conn’s reported net income of $27.73 million in the quarter of fiscal 2014, up 57% from $17.66 million in the same quarter the prior fiscal year.

  • DSW opens three new stores April 3

    Columbus, Ohio – DSW Inc. opens three new stores April 3. The stores will be located in Reading, Pa., Olympia, Wash., and White Plains, N.Y.

    DSW Rewards is a free loyalty program in which customers earn certificates toward future DSW purchases and receive special member-only offers. Customers can also participate in a Shoe Lover community on Facebook.

  • Senators criticize Target for breach

    Minneapolis – Senators John D. Rockefeller (D. - W.V.) and Richard Blumenthal (D. – Conn.) publicly criticized Target’s handling of its 2013 data breach during testimony by Target CFO John J. Mulligan in front of the Senate Commerce Committee, which Rockefeller chairs. The senators said that Target’s management did not pay attention to signals from its security software and that it is time for the retail industry to make changes.
