  • Coldwater Creek names president and chief merchandising officer

    Sandpoint, Idaho -- Coldwater Creek announced that Jill Brown Dean has been appointed president and chief merchandising officer, effective Feb. 14. She succeeds Georgia Shonk Simmons who previously announced her intention to retire.

    Dean joins Coldwater Creek with over 25 years of retail and merchandising experience in the specialty retail sector. She most recently served as president of the Limited Too division of Tween Brands.

  • Febreze scores touchdown with first-ever athletic equipment, gear drive

    CINCINNATI - Febreze teamed up with the Dallas Forth-Worth Salvation Army to collect new and gently used sports equipment and athletic gear at the NFL Experience, an exhibit held at the Dallas Convention Center.

    The two will host the first-ever Febreze Game Day Freshness Sports Equipment Drive Jan. 27 to 30, and Feb. 2 to 6. The equipment and gear will be freshened using Febreze products and donated to the North Texas Youth Education Town in Arlington, said Febreze, which is the official air freshener of the National Football League.

  • Emagine Theatres opens at Hampton Village Centre

    Rochester Hills, Mich. -- Emagine Theatres has opened a 47,884-sq.-ft. location at Hampton Village Centre, in Rochester Hills, Mich.

    The center is owned by Centro Properties Group, based in New York City.
     

  • Brother Jimmy’s BBQ to open corporate offices in Meatpacking District

    New York City -- TF Cornerstone announced that it has inked a 10-year lease for approximately 3,500 sq. ft. with Brother Jimmy’s BBQ.

    The company will be headquartered at 521 West Street at 95 Horatio Street, using the space to house the company’s corporate offices, commissary and catering facility.

    Target has never claimed to have the lowest prices, but it might want to rethink that strategy now that it has the benefit of its REDcard loyalty program.

  • Panache: An Aveda Salon to open at Plantation Plaza

    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in Jacksonville, Fla., at Plantation Plaza to Panache: An Aveda Salon.   

    The full-service salon leased 2,992 sq. ft. of retail space, bringing the center to 93% leased. The salon, its second in the area, is slated to open spring 2011.

    The 77,747-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Publix alongside national retailers such as Great Clips, Wendy’s and TCBY.

  • Fisher to lead Canadian effort

    The challenge of spearheading Target’s entry into Canada will be handled by Tony Fisher. He was named president of Target Canada last week in a brief press release that offered little detail on his background or qualifications to lead the company’s efforts to open between 100 and 150 stores beginning in 2013.   • Merlo set to take reins of CVS on March 1

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Caremark said Larry Merlo will succeed Thomas M. Ryan as CEO on March 1 as part of its previously announced succession strategy.

    The company had announced in May that Merlo would take the position as Ryan approaches retirement. Merlo is currently the president and COO.

    Ryan will remain chairman of the board until he retires in May, at which point David Dorman will take that position. Dorman has been a director since 2006.
