  • Third Eatery opens at Moorestown Mall

    Moorestown, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) said Friday that Sakura House has opened a 980-sq.-ft. Japanese eatery at Moorestown Mall, located in Moorestown, N.J.

    The new location, in the Food Court, joins the recently opened Bubby’s Brisket and Elevation Burger.

  • Genesco Q4 net income up 19%

    Nashville, Tenn. -- Genesco said Friday that its net income rose 19%, boosted by acquisitions and higher revenue from its stores.

    Net income rose 19% to $30.9 million, from $25.9 million in the prior-year period. Revenue rose 17% to $560.5 million, from $479 million. Analysts expected revenue of $539.8 million.

    Same-store sales were up 9%.

    For the full year, net income rose 85% to $53.2 million. Revenue rose 14% to $1.79 billion, from $1.57 billion.

  • Target settles lawsuit over California waste disposal

    San Diego -- Target Corp. was ordered by a California judge to pay $22.5 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that the chain illegally disposed hazardous waste at hundreds of stores throughout the state, prosecutors said Thursday, according to the Associated Press.

    The settlement puts Target under tight scrutiny to ensure that it properly disposes waste at its nearly 300 stores in California, the report said.

  • Walmart raises dividend

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart said Thursday that it is increasing its annual dividend 21% on the back of strong earnings.

    The retailer last month reported a 27% increase in fourth-quarter net income as it benefited from cost-cutting and strong international sales. Walmart said it will pay an annual dividend this year of $1.46, up from $1.21. It will pay quarterly dividends of 36.5 cents in April, June, September and January in fiscal 2012, which ends Jan. 31.

    The next dividend will be paid on April 4 to shareholders of record on March 11.

  • Walmart brushes up on sustainable beauty with EcoTools line

    NEW YORK — EcoTools, an earth-friendly bath and beauty products brand, has made its way to Walmart.

    Last month, a variety of EcoTools cosmetic brushes lined the shelves of Walmart stores throughout the country. EcoTools also introduced the EcoTools everyday collection 6-piece brush set exclusively at Walmart. The collection, which comes in a hemp case, includes an angled blush brush, an angle eyeliner brush, concealer brush, eye shading brush and detailer/lip brush. The 6-piece set retails for $10.98.

  • Guitar Center to open at Oakview Plaza North

    Omaha, Neb. -- New York City-based The Lightstone Group said Thursday that Guitar Center has signed a 10-year, 18,000-sq.-ft. lease at Oakview Plaza located in Omaha, Neb.

    Built in 1999, Oakview Plaza is a power center that serves Omaha's westward expansion, and comprises three single-story retail buildings located on approximately 19.6 acres of land and containing approximately 177,303 rentable sq. ft. It is tenanted by Famous Footwear, Men's Warehouse, PetSmart, Panera, Dick's Sporting Goods and Babies "R” Us.

  • Prestige appoints new VP operations

    IRVINGTON, N.Y. — Prestige Brands on Friday named Paul Hennessey VP operations.
